Lavenders, Happy World Sexual Purity Day. I came to discover about this day last year through Instagram. For those who do not know, November 14th is World Sexual Purity Day. Today's blog is an encouragement to all the young people out here. I hope you enjoy it.
Sex is one of the most potent ways of intimacy in this world. God created sex, and it is one of the most talked about words in the world. You probably know what sex is, but do you value it? Many young people are often fascinated by sex because of their mindset, perspective, and mentality. Every young person knows that sex is intimacy. 1 Corinthians 6:16 says, "Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh."
Keep yourself until marriage is a phrase you have probably heard before, but do you practice it? Staying celibate until marriage is more than keeping yourself or honoring God. It also shows how much you love and respect yourself. If you have to engage in sex before marriage in a relationship or situation, then you do not love yourself. Love is powerful, but the right kind of love is even more powerful. Females, especially young females, are often the victims of engaging in premarital sex.
Females are vulnerable, emotional, and fragile. Being a young female, I can tell you that my desire to be loved was on another level during my teenage years. Each time I liked a guy, it did not take long for me to imagine our life together, marriage, and children. It is straightforward to get carried away with the idea of love and the desire to be loved, but this also lies in the dangers. Dangers such as getting pregnant before marriage, STDs, emotional heartbreak, etc.
I do not want you to leave this blog today viewing sexual purity as an odd thing. It is strange in our world, but as Christians, we ought to be different and obey our God. 1 Peter 2:9 says, "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."
I am staying pure until marriage, and I hope you are too. We are on a journey. The right guy for me will find me at the right time, and the right man for you will also find you at the right time. In the meantime, let us be focused on discovering ourselves, loving ourselves, knowing ourselves, and being focused on our Lord Jesus Christ. Most importantly, let our hearts be committed to God. You can do it. Value yourself and your body.
Thank you for taking your time today to read this. God Bless You and Keep You. Keep yourself pure and stay celibate. The right person deserves to know the genuine and authentic you. Keep yourself and Leave the rest to God.
