Zeal and Passion

Updated: Jan 9

Lavenders, Happy New Year Once Again. I hope your year has been off to a great start. Mine has been off to a beautiful start. In today's blog post, I will be discussing Zeal and Passion. It is a New Year, so we all need a New Passion.

Passion in the sense that our hearts and love for God have to be revived. As I look across the earth, I see a lack of motivation and deep love for the Creator. I see a lack of zeal and passion for God among humanity, including myself. I see a lack of gratitude. I see the Creator being taken advantage of, which breaks my heart.

Life is beyond our daily needs, wants, and desires. I have struggled to accept this because of what I see on the earth. As I was thinking through many things on the 1st of this year, many questions came to mind. The first was, "Am I living an impactful life?" The second was, "How is this year going to be for me?" and the third was, "How can I revive my passion and love for God this year?" The second question overwhelmed me because I was thinking of January 2nd to December 31st, which is a lot of days to think through in a couple of hours. But let's get to the more serious question, "How can I revive my passion and love for God this year?" My devotional time in 2020 went from reading through five devotionals to doing a bible plan each week with my sister and cousins. My devotional time went from 2 hours to an hour of prayer, reading, meditating on God's Word, and praying for my day. But the question remains, "How can I revive my passion and love for God this year?" I know of God, but my passion and zeal for him are not 100%. I struggle with having constant zeal and passion for God. I have great moments with God, but they rarely happen. It takes deep thinking to ignite my love for God internally, and then it comes out outwardly in praise, worship, or tears. Reviving passion and love for God is beyond prayer; this is what I taught for the longest time. Everything to me was prayer, but there is so much more to life than prayer.

Zeal and passion for God are placed in a man by God. No one develops love and passion for God immediately; it is gradual and in steps. One of the great things I have been reminded about since the year began is having eternity in mind daily. Having eternity in mind daily takes conscious effort. What kind of life are you living? A righteous life, a humbling life worth discussing after you leave. Living an impactful life and fulfilling our part to move the Kingdom of God forward daily on the earth is what we are called to do. Every individual on the planet has a different calling, and having an impact is different for everyone. Impact in your workplace could be your calling and for someone else; it could be in their family, community, neighborhood, a particular state, or country. Whatever and Wherever Your Calling Is, Impact is critical to make.

One of the ways I have an impact is through my writing. This would not be the first or last time you hear this, but as you already know, I LOVE TO WRITE. Writing is my passion. If I had not been in college, earning an education, I would have been a writer all my life or for the rest of my life. Writing brings out a different side to me. I write to inspire, influence, and impact people, especially young women like me. How are you making an impact on the earth? Impact does not have to be massive based on the definition of society, and the people around you define it for you. The effect is what you define it as; all that matters is that you are making it to glorify GOD. Our Salvation in Christ is not just for ourselves, family, and friends. It is for all. What are you doing to move the kingdom of God forward on the earth this year? Please review this and let me know in the blog's comment section. Lavenders, it is a new year, and we must be determined to revive our love and passion for Christ. God works daily to draw us to him. This year, 2021, is ours; let's take it and own it. I cannot wait to see God's great things in store for you and I. God Bless Every Single One Of You. I hope you have a blessed weekend and a great week ahead.

If you are reading and do not believe in God, I encourage you to have an open heart and mind and give God a chance to prove himself to you. Please say this prayer: "Heavenly Father, I am a sinner and come to you to ask you to forgive me of my terrible sins. Thank you for dying for my sins and bearing the shame on that Cross so I may have eternal life. Today, I confess with my mouth that I have sinned against you, and believe with my whole heart that Jesus is Lord, and God raised Him from the dead on the third day. He is seated on the Heavenly throne and intercedes on my behalf. I give you my heart, soul, and life and pray that I will obey thy Word. In the precious name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen." If you just said that prayer, welcome to the family of believers. Congratulations!! Heaven rejoiced; God is so glad and happy to have you in his family. I will be praying for you and your walk with God. Feel free to contact me on the next steps in this new chapter in your life.
